Carbon Emissions

Expedia.co.uk is fully committed to helping to protect the environment and tackle climate change. Working with the Carbon Neutral Company, Expedia has offset the 17.3 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide produced from flight emissions during Anya’s 64,000 mile, 56 plane odyssey to find the World’s Best Blue Sky.

The carbon emissions were offset against a variety of projects related to some of the destinations that Anya visited on her mission to include:

Manawatu Gorge, North Island, New Zealand – A Wind farm Project to aid renewable energy technology
The project aims to provide an alternative to non-sustainable power sources in New Zealand. It will offset approximately 100,000 tonnes of CO² annually.

Hendre Ddu, Snowdonia, Wales – A Forestry Project
This projects aims to help the reforestation project in Hendre Ddu in Wales. This will enable them to absorb an additional 7,500 tonnes of CO² annually.

Butano Falls Forest, California, USA – A Forestry Project
The project aims to conserve and improve the management of some of the historic forests in northern California. This will enable them to absorb an additional 7,500 tonnes of CO² over 100 years
