Pink Floyd's frontman, Roger Waters, was also the creative mastermind behind the inflatable pigs used on their 'Animals' album cover. Unfortunately the pig broke lose and floated into the flight path of several planes, causing all Heathrow flights that day to be grounded.

One of his more successful ideas was to fund and stage one of the largest concerts of all time in 1990 in Berlin, to commemorate the destruction of Germany's most hated wall a year earlier. It featured performances by Water's friends including Van Morrison, Bryan Adams and The Scorpions but sadly did not hail a reunion for Pink Floyd.

For Water's spectacular solo set, he had a 550-foot long and 82-foot high wall constructed, and it seemed to do the trick, as the gig was watched live by 500,000 people, and broadcast live in 35 countries, which enabled another 500 million people to watch the concert live from their homes |
